Reputation is the objective social appreciation to personal value of the specific main body. It is social, objective, specific and idealistic. Right of reputation is the protected personal right which is enjoyed by the natural person and artificial person. It is legal, specific, absolute, non-financial, able to transform and able to be restricted. As one of personal rights, right of reputation is confirmed and protected by constitution, criminal law, civil law, and so on. No one is privileged to infringe right of reputation, otherwise, he must bear the legal responsibility. The significance of right of reputation is to protect personal right and dignity, to release people from suffering mental pain, and to maintain the good order of our society.In recent years, there are more and more internet reputation infringement cases as network technique develops quickly. Based on the characteristics of internet reputation infringement, the issue of bearing responsibilities for infringing right of reputation through internet is discussed in this paper. Nowadays, citizens have stronger legal consciousness and right notion than before, and people pay more attention to the issue of protecting right of reputation of the death. There are lots of doctrinal and judicial controversies on that. In this paper, personal viewpoint about the issue of protecting right of reputation of the death or historical figures is given through study and analysis.There are more than 40,000 characters in this paper, which begins with the concept and characteristic of reputation and right of reputation, states the relationships between right of reputation and right of privacy, right of honor, supervision right by public opinion.
