Swift development and extensive application for science and technology has offered an opportunity for constant changes of the human society. After the 1970s, some advanced technology had been introduced into the lawsuit, producing a new kind of evidence, namely audio-visual material. It played an irreplaceable role in the identification activity of the lawsuit because of its remarkable high-tech character compared with the traditional kinds of evidence. So it has become a hotspot in the academic and practical circle of the lawsuit field of the world and our country now.Civil Procedure Law (trying out) established the independent position of audio-visual for the first time in 1982. This was a great invention of our procedure law and settled the foundation for the further development of audio-visual material. However, the civil audio-visual material system of our country is not still complete as a whole so it is necessary to analyze its basic problems systematically. The author consulted a large amount of literature about audio-visual material and drawn lessons from overseas experience in the course of writing, thus structured a tight and systematic academic system of audio-visual material comparatively and then put forward some opinions of her own.This thesis is divided into 3 parts excluding introduction and epilogue, which is 32,000 words or so.The first one is to analyze the current situation. In this part, the author introduced the legislative and practical situation of the civil audio-visual material system of our country briefly and refined its main problems.
