Mao Zedong And Deng Xiaoping's Socialist Economic Construction Ideological Comparative Study

The socialism economic construction fluctuated greatly since the establishment of our country. From the year of 1956 to 1966, we explored the way of socialism modernization toughly under the leading of Chairman Mao. The economic construction achieved fruitfully, however, there were still a lot of blunders. During the Cultural Revolution, the economic construction order was disturbed severely. After the opening-up reform, our socialism economic construction has gained glorious accomplishments: the comprehensive national strength enhanced a lot and the living standard of Chinese people improved remarkably. Comparing with the economic thoughts between Chairman Mao and Deng will help us to look into the cause.This thesis tries to compare and analyze from four aspects: productive forces, socialism ownership, economic development strategy and ownership. In the perspective of productive forces, they all attached much importance to the development of socialism productivity. However in the latter period, Chairman Mao paid much attention to the counteraction of productivity. He regarded that the gradual innovation of means of production could better promote the development of productivity; While Deng Xiaoping emphasized the inner impetus of the productivity. Revolving around the economic construction, he put the socialism productivity in the first place from beginning to the end. In the perspective of means of production, they all advocated developing public ownership vigorously. But Chairman Mao highlighted the single public ownership, whereas Deng Xiaoping encouraged the development of non-public ownership. In the development strategy, they all believed we should build socialism modernization step by step. Chairman Mao put forward "two steps" strategy and Deng "three steps". Nevertheless, the "three steps" strategy was much practical. In the perspective of common rich, they all took the common rich as their target But Chairman Mao thought that we should become rich at the same time.
