The item"Utopia"originates from the Englishman Thomas More's famous work"Utopia", in which More put forth effort to describe an ideal country. The utopia thought is a kind of remarkable thought in the history of the political thought, which is a rarity in the mankind's outstanding civilization. The national theory is a sort of wonderful works in the utopia thought. The national theory in early utopia thought has its progressive meanings, which has a great impact at that time and even the later ages. The national theory is the most important part in the Utopia thought. The Utopia that the paper analyzes and studies is not the vague and the general illusion of so-called new world in general meanings. It has the stricter political intension, which refers to the value expectancy that certain social groups reach because of a certain goal. Therefore, this paper focuses on famous early Utopia thinkers during modern times (13th century to the 17th century) and analyzes the national theory in these representative famous Utopia thoughts. This paper does not plan to adopt the analytical method of biography, but plans to thoroughly analyze those discussions of organization and principle facilitating such perfect society. It analyzes the national theory from the thought of such four Utopia thinkers as More, etc.,separately discussing with three aspects of the function and organization of the nation, the social system and the foreign relationship with other nations.Under this guidance, the paper attempts to answer the following questions:(1)How are the spirit of the times and the social state of the early Utopia thinker? What is the origin of the national theory that they put forward? How is their relationship? Those are probed mainly in the first chapter.(2)What contribution does the national theory make in the early Utopia thought? And which contribution does it make to the socialist thoughts? Compared with the contemporary political philosophers, how is its theory's status? Those are probed in the second chapter.(3) Which kind of way is Utopia inherited and developed the late generations? Is it the ideal spirit or the practical revolutionary action? How is its impact on the later ages? Should we pay close attention to the Utopia thought to the realistic warning or its spiritual driving force? Those are probed in the third chapter.
