U.s. Unilateral Trade Protection Measures Study

Confronted with the new economic structure of the world and the different international economic status, America changes its foreign trade police to hold an overwhelming advantage in international trade market. Under the name of fair trade policy, 301 and 337 provisions are applied to impose unilateral trade sanctions to the so called"unfair-block market"and other"unfair trade disputes". These actions go against the regulations of GATT and WTO, they are a kind of trade protectionism.This article introduced WTO multilateral trade system and America foreign trade policy. Meanwhile it studied the"301 provision"and"337 provision"thoroughly, with the method of combination of theory and practical cases. This study focused on the background of these two provisions as well as the main content, the essential features and how to deal with them in reality. The study will contribute to the success of the trade war between China and America.
