The right of name, belonging to the category of personal rights adjusted by the Civil Law, is one of the citizen's important personal rights. In recent years, with the development of the society and economy, as well as people'more attention to the spiritual life, the disputes about the right of name increase day by day. The importance of it also highlight increasingly. Not only the society but also the citizens are paying more attention to the problem of name right. Some jurists and law workers also have conducted some research and discussion from their respective angle to the right of name. However, in our country this kinds of research cannot satisfy people'request to protect the name right. At present, the legislation about the citizen's right of name is simple and scattered. People in academic circles have obtained certain achievement which is not rich and perfect enough. Therefore, it has become an inevitable topic for the legislature to strengthen, improve and detail the legislation.At present, the study of name right lies much in static theoretic state, but less in dynamic state overall which is about the realization of the right. The research on the relationship between citizen's name right and household register management is much less. In the article, from the present situation of name right in china, the author uses historical research technique, comparison law and case study law to analyze the concept, various contents, law nature, legal characteristics, infringement types and the civil protection of the right of name, and also the utilization of various contents in household register management. The author intends to connect the legal theoretic research with the applied research in register management so that we can put forward household register legislation of name right, under the guidance of civil law principle.
