Laotse and Zhuangtse demonstrated the credit theory. The creditthought was the part of the theory Taoism. Laotse and Zhuangtse stated thecredit theory, which was different from the Confucianism credit thought. The credit was moral, and was the base of the human relation. It was the ruleof the behavior that people should obey. So the credit was independent andspecial. This article attempts the analysis of the Laotse Zhuangtse creditthoughts, systemically with law philosophy. It consists of six parts, about30,000 words.PartⅠ. This part, including five, shows us Mr Laotse Zhuangtseattitude towards credit. The credit is a nature of the Daoism. There is noDaoism without credit, which is the standard of the behavior. Laotse playedimportance on obeying the credit rule and he thought that the credit rulecould make the all rich. Zhuangtse believed that if a person was trusted byothers, he could avoid the death. They analyzed the characteristic of thecredit completely, and discovered the method to understand credit. It is briefin this part to provide the following chapters with direction.PartⅡ. Laotse demonstrated the essence, characteristic of the credit. He showed us credit value from universal Taoism to human Taoism.Zhuangtse divided the Taoism to universal Taoism, emperor's Taoism andsage's Taoism. He revealed the credit nature from natural Taoism to humanTaoism. Laotse thought that the concrete credit contained obeying the creditrule, credit about ethics, trusting others and artificial credit. One should betrusted by others and so were the others. He revealed the objective nature ofthe credit, that the credit reflected something really. The seven branches ofthe Zhuangtse credit thought included the different credit fields; wordsaccording to behavior; credit in interaction between human relations, between a person and another, throne and slave, or a country and another;shape according to nature; credit on mercy; credit of the third person andcredit of a much loved and highly respected person. In a word, the creditwas that a thing was in accordance with another. PartⅢ. In this part, we want to make a further about the meaning ofthe credit following the second part. The systemic and consistent creditmeaning would be discovered. Laotse thought that the credit was the realessence lay in Taoism and the real credit would reflect the things; really.Zhuangtse was sure that the credit was the uniformity of the world myriadthings. They were relating each other. Laotse credit thought was abstract anduniversal, so it had the function of leadership. Zhuangtse credit thought wasconcreted and was the further of the Laotse credit thought. Their creditthought was consistent. Credit was the real. Laotse and Zhuangtseemphasized the objective character of the credit. Credit reflected the realsituation.PartⅣ. Laotse and Zhuangtse thought that the existence of the royalpower was reasonable, so they were influenced by the patriarchal clan ethicswhen they were elaborating the credit thought. Credit reflected thepatriarchal ethics naturally. Simultaneously, because they didn't advocate thereplacement of credit by giving self up, they couldn't maintain the creditthoroughly and completely. The credit of Laotse Zhuangtse thoughts wasobjective and it was not subjective. This was in accord with the idea of theDaoism. All persons and things held the credit rule. The credit made theheaven, earth and all others remain alive. The heaven linked to the earth bythe credit, which was the basement of the heaven and the earth.PartⅤ. We want to discuss the reason why the credit thought of MrLaotse and Zhuangtse appeared. Because of the uncertainty of an element ofsubjectivity, we consider the objective element simply. Although the credittheory was very abstract, it was related to the reality. The reality was that thehonesty and deceit co-existed. In period of Spring and Autumn, agriculture, economical relation based on the land, and other relations promoted the riseof Laotse honest thought. In period of the Warring States, social turmoil, withemess of morality, deceit and the world-weary mood provided thecondition for credit thought.PartⅥ. This part discusses the modern value of Laotse Zhuangtsecredit thought to law system. The Laotse Zhuangtse thought of credit is valuable, and we could know how the credit thought is legalized. Credit isthe basis of the entire legal system. The idea of credit itself can be reflectedby acting, and the law provides standard of behavior for people, so the creditthought could lie in the legal system. The credit and the deceit arecontradictory, and always influenced by environmental element, so we canprovide people with credit environment by constructing the legal system.Legal credit should reflect the social justice and faimess. Credit is equal andgrade. Credit duty and credit responsibility is related to the credit degree.
