This dissertation contains five chapters, including the concept and meaning ofparallel litigation; the category of parallel litigation which can be divided into repetitivelitigation and reactive litigation; the causation of parallel litigation; the legislation andpractice of parallel litigation in other countries; the legislation and practice of parallellitigation in our country; and the suggestions to settle the parallel litigation according tocurrent situation.Chapter One: This chapter mainly talks about the meaning of parallel litigation andthe category of parallel litigation, analyzing from the basic concept, the parallel litigationwe studied is positive litigation, and also points out that the category of parallellitigation which includes repetitive litigation and reactive litigation.Chapter Two: This chapter lists all the causes of parallel litigation.Chapter Three: This chapter consults the legislation and practice of parallel litigationin other countries, especially the countries in Continental law system andAnglo-American law system. This chapter also talks about the international conventionand practice of parallel litigation through the comparison of Brussels Convention,Convention concerning the Civil Suit, Hague, Lugano Convention and the case law inEuropean Court.Chapter Four: This chapter is about the legislation and practice of parallel litigationin our country through the analyzing of current situation and points out the advantagesand disadvantages in dealing with the parallel litigation in China.Chapter Five: This chapter puts forward some suggestions to deal with parallellitigation, mainly includes Inconvenience Principle, Court First Seized Principle,Consensual Jurisdiction Principle and International Comity Principle.
