As a regional power in the Middle East, turkey's relations with its neighboring Muslim countries have always been cold as well as problematic in general since the establishment of the republic in the year of 1923, it seems that turkey tried not to involved in Middle Eastern developments except for its own security concern. However, the year 1999 witnessed a big change in Turkish foreign policy towards the Middle East and this change appeared more evidently after the Justice and Development Party(AKP in Turkish) won the 2002 election and Erdogan became the prime minister, the change was clearly articulated in AKP's outlines, which are dedicated to join in the EU and actively involved in the Middle East and played as a regional broker. Thorough its constructive diplomatic engagement in the region, turkey's relations with its neighboring countries are better than before now. And this essay tries to analyze the reasons which drives Turkish-Syrian relations from a most problematic one into a partner style, besides this, my paper also tries to find out are these amelioration with Syria as well as other Middle East countries symbolized a whole transition in its foreign policy? My conclusion is that with the Europeanization (the EU candidature) and westernization in its domestic and foreign policy, the foreign policy is in its process of transition, however, it is limited within the context of nation security and the consideration of the Turkish-American and the Turkish-EU relations. Undoubtedly, Turkish foreign policy achieved its new goals and the Turkish-Syrian, Turkish-Arabic relations owned a bright prospect.
