The Regional Characteristics Of China's Elite Female Competitive Results Analysis And Research

Women's Heptathlon is a comprehensive track and field sport comprising various competitive athletic contests based around the activities of running hurdling, jumping, and throwing. Each items in the Heptathlon has to follow the regulations as decided orders and time, the results is accounted according to scoring tables issued by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF),the total scores will decide the rank in this competition. Women's Heptathlon is recognized as "Iron man", which can reflect the esthetic's comprehensive ability in speed, strength and endurance. To some extent it could reflect female's sports level of the country.This paper begins from the regional distribution, according to recent six years records of the excellent female athletes (World class athletes, National class athletes and individual first class athletes) from different provinces of the three region(East, Middle and West) of China who have attended World and National Women's Heptathlon. Some methods such as documents consulting, data statisticsing and logical analyzing have been used in this paper, which analyzed the Heptathlon results of each region, development for the Heptathlon related to the competition results, personal structure, economic input and other aspects. It has shown that the advantage and shortcomings for the development of female Heptathlon in China, and pointed out the places which need to make improvement, it provides the theoretical base for the development of female Heptathlon in China, the connection and balance the development for each region.Attending the National Games is to be the strategy goal for Women's Heptathlon in our country, it is stepping down after twenty years development and improvement. China is a developing country identified by a large geography and population, diverse nationality, so it has regional diverse in the process of the sports competitions. Obviously, this regional diverse is featured as gradient in the East, Middle and Western parts of China. East part has a high level of sport for its high development comparing with Middle and Western parts. Factors as the retirement of excellent athletics is to be the main reason for the stepping down of the Heptathlon results. How to find and solve the problem as the geography, regional diversity and some other aspects which has influenced the Heptathlon is the key point in this research.
