The study aims to explore the effect of Math Anxiety on solving the Geometric Problems among junior students. Questionnaire survey was conducted and327students of one middle school in Nanjing were participated in this study. Conclusions can be drawn as follows:1. With regards to the level of solving the geometric problems among junior students, from the grade’s perspective, the overall level of the competence of solving geometric problems among junior students is declining and the difference is obvious, i.e. the competence of junior students on solving geometric problems is reducing with the increase of grades. From the gender’s perspective, boys are more likely than girls to have higher level in solving the geometric problems, the geometric met cognition for boys is slightly better than girls, and boys are obviously better than girls in the aspect of geometric problems solving strategies and affective factors.2. The overall Math anxiety of junior students is not very obvious. The Math anxiety that students tend to arouse focuses on the aspect of study performance and examination performance. The level of Math anxiety decreases with the increasing of grades, the seventh-graders are more likely to arouse math anxiety than students of other grades. Girls are more likely to arouse math anxiety than boys.3. The math anxiety of junior students are highly negatively correlated with the met cognition as well as the affective factors in solving geometric problems; The test anxiety and test result anxiety are positively correlated with the memory strategy in the strategies of solving geometric problems, while the math anxiety is highly negatively correlated with the elaborative strategy and the organizational strategy in solving geometric problems.4. The level of solving geometric problems among junior students are highly positively correlated with their math performance, i.e. Students with better geometric competence possesses higher math level on the whole.
