Function throughout the high school mathematics learning, but also a difficult teaching high school students to understand the function, what are the difficulties and obstacles, how should the teacher teaching can make students better understand the function, this is a topic worthy of study.Under the background of new curriculum, mathematics thinking method teaching is paid more and more attention, the methodology of number shape combination is the high school stage an important mathematics thought method, especially plays an indispensable role in the function teaching, so this paper combined the two,trying to use the methodology of number shape combination to guide the function of teaching, promoting student understanding of function。First of all, from the students to grasp the function and methodology of number shape combination these two aspects to carry on the questionnaire survey and the interview to Grade10students, Grade12students, reached the following three results:(1) The function of learning of students in senior high school has two main difficulties:one is the study of function concept, function definition most students still tend to junior high school; two is the representation form not flexible use of function.(2) High school students do not know the meaning of the methodology of number shape combination and the ability of the combination of number and shape in solving the problems is not high. Grade10students tend to use algebraic methods to solve, Grade12students are like the image of function to solve, in general, two grade students with the ability of the combination of number and shape have no significant difference.(3) most of the students are aware of the importance of image of function as well as the methodology of number shape combination in function learning, but teachers seem to pay little attention to this point, When students cannot understand will be aided by graphics, the methodology of number shape combination in problem solving learning just referred to, and are passed over, let the students to remember this set of type, As for whether students really understand is not considered, also the students log shaped one-sided understanding of integration.To solve the above three problems, put forward four strategies to penetrate the methodology of number shape combination in the function teaching:intuitive icon to promote student understanding of the concept of function; strengthen the conversion between multiple representation function; pay attention to function in the role of teaching; the application of modern education technology.Then in order to test the effect of teaching strategies in practical teaching, chose two classes of Grade10, one class as the experimental class, continue to focus on the penetration of the methodology of number shape combination in teaching, another class as the control class, using conventional teaching method for teaching. Formulate a unified testing standards, methods of collective test, the test results are analyzed, the conclusion is:Penetration of these teaching strategies have certain teaching effect in the function teaching. In general, promoting students’ understanding of the function of knowledge, but also need to be further improved.Finally, the methodology of number shape combination teaching suggestions are given: systematically, levels of the methodology of number shape combination teaching; The combination of number and shape teaching should be transferred from problem-solving tool for guiding ideology.
