The environmental problem has become an international topic, more and morepeople pay attention to the environmental problems in21st century.The Untied States of American is one of the earliest engaged in environmentaleducation in the second half of the19th century, by natural sports and outdoormovement education. These activities are propaganda to the public on the importanceof protecting our natural resources. With the increasing deterioration of theenvironment, U.S. government actively set out to regular school in environmentaleducation legislation, and established the world of first Environmental Education Actin1970.From then on, the environment education in the United States along the track,norms, systems, and the forefront of the rapid development in the world.Environmental education has received extensive attention of people from all walks oflife and all over the world, because it directly affects the development of our nextgeneration. To implement environment education, we should begin from babies, letchildren learning the around things and cultivate their preliminary environmentalprotection consciousness. The United States, Britain, Japan and other countries regardlove nature, protect the green environment and understand the environment includedin the content of the preschool education, as one of the aims of science educationfrom early childhood.The United States of America North Carolina has a very rich natural resources,the state government attaches great importance to environmental education to thepeople of the state, regulate the environmental education of citizens through theformulation of laws and regulations and a series of plans, the North Carolinagovernment emphasizes the childhood stage began to carry out environmentaleducation. A variety of strategies to implement environmental education in thepreschool of North Carolina, and have certain features, the outdoor learning, naturallearning and the natural ecological environment education into the science educationfor children in the modern society, they help children understand the ecological environment, to cultivate children with environmental literacy, and achievedremarkable results. In combination with the present situation of environmentaleducation in the preschool of China, from the way and characteristics of AmericanNorth Carolina environmental education in kindergarten, explore a beneficialenlightenment for the situation of our country.The thesis consists of seven parts:The first part of introduction illustrated five aspects: presentation of topicreasons, related concepts definition, domestic and international general research,purposes and significance of the studying and methods of the study.The second part mainly analyzed the backgrounds of North Carolina’senvironmental education in the nineteen seventies.The third part introduced the Untied states of North Carolina children’s relevantpolicies about environmental education in the nineteen seventies.The fourth part described the strategies of North Carolina preschool’senvironmental education in the nineteen seventies.The fifth part introduces North Carolina preschool present status ofenvironmental education in the nineteen seventies.The sixth part described the problems and reasons of North Carolinapreschool’s environmental education in the nineteen seventies.The last section suggested useful inspiration to our country on the basis ofabsorbing the available experiences of North Carolina preschools environmentaleducation in the nineteen seventies and combined with Chinese reality and problems.
