| The Thirteenth Aerobic Gymnastics World C hampionships was ended on June 29, 2014 in Cancun, Mexico. There are nine countries taking part in the Championships, including China, South Korea, host Mexico, Argentina, France, Hungary, Russia, Italy and Romania. C hinese team won the bronze medal. France and Romania won gold and silver medals respectively. Chinese athletes Yu Yangyang broke the deadlock happened last year-- Chinese players did not enter the final of individual female events. She ranked fourth in the race. With the implement of the version 2013 FIG World Sports Aerobics rules, the development of aerobics technology shows a new trend. The individual events of world championship games are adjusted. Especially the patterns of the individual female events have some changes compared with that of the 12 t h. The competitive landscape of the world aerobics show new changes. This study was based on the rules of version FIG2009 and version 2013. The research objects of this study are the 16 complete set of movement of the top eight of the Women’s singles in the 12 t h and 13 t h Aerobic Gymnastics World C hampionships. Method of literature data, video analysis, logical analysis and mathematical statistics and other research methods are adopted in this research. C hanges in the rules, competition results, movement difficulties, as well as the operation of the complete set of artistic choreography and other aspects will be analyzed. This research aims to grasp the pattern of development in today’s world of competitive women’s aerobics single project and to identify deficiencies existed in the Chinese women’s team. The study results show that:1. Thirteenth world championships have made some adjustments in the rules of the area of site, the number and value of the difficulty of movement as well as the scoring criteria and other aspects. The original site area of single game expanded from 7×7 square meters from to 10×10 square meters. Among the four difficulty actions, the number of group C significantly reduced; the number of group D increased. C hanges of difficulty Action scores: the scores of group A lowered except two cut movements which rose 0.1; scores of 10 actions of Group B have been upgraded, the highest upgrade among the four groups; scores of group C were lowered; changes of the scores of group D were all higher than before. On the criterion of the scores, it becomes much more refined which poses higher demands for the quality of action completion.2. The total scores of top eight individual female events of the thirteenth championship have been significantly improved over that of the twelfth. Athletes on longer pursued high scores movement with difficulties blindly, but focused more on the quality of the action and complete sets of artistry. The difficulty of the complete set of movement presented as "2-1-4-3" mode. Athletes selected more balanced and reasonable actions. The style and personal characteristics of the Athletes from different countries became clearer: the European Players showed more tension and manifested richer appeal. Though European athletes are still the dominant participants in the 13 th championships, the number of athletes from Asia and South America has increased evidently.3. The action of the upper and lower limbs of athletes became diversified; the number of transition and connection action, changes of moving route, the spatial switching have increased. The innovation of set arrangement and artistic expression of the players have improved compared to the 12 th Championships. The competition became more ornamental.4. The special technology of female athletes tends to be more masculine. The gap is narrowing among different countries. C hinese women’s team, although made a lot of progress, still have large room for improvement in terms of artistic expression, movement and other innovative and lower extremity strength when compared with European powers. |
