The main goal of college campus culture construction is to use the unintended function of advanced culture to improve the intrinsic qualities, culture level and ideas of contemporary college students step by step, help them grasp the rule of harmonious coexistence between humans, human and nature, human and society, set up the correct outlook on life, world outlook and values. In this sense, the popularization of Marxism shares the objective with the college campus culture construction. At the same time, with the aid of campus culture, the ideology can invisibly penetrate, promoting the conscious identity of Marxism for young students and the transformation into political beliefs. So, the popularization of Marxism should be taken as a strategic task for the college campus culture construction; make full use of campus culture resources to promote the campus culture level, enhance the popularization of Marxism through college campus culture construction.In general, the construction of campus culture in colleges and universities in our country is developing steadily, and has obtained some achievements. But our country is in the important strategic opportunity period of social transformation, so dramatic changes have taken place in the economic, political and cultural environment, having some negative influence on the construction of campus culture in colleges and universities. On one hand, school leaders, teachers and students do not understand the Marxist theory deeply and thoroughly, so they can’t correctly treat all sorts of problems existing in the process of reform and opening up, which is manifested in the low identification of Marxism culture and weaker guiding function of Marxist theory; on the other hand, the campus culture construction is ambiguous without the clear idea, giving rise to the formalism of campus cultural construction, inadequate protection of the cultural rights and interests for teachers and students, weaker university spirit and low culture grade.To solve these problems, this paper builds the theory of college campus culture construction through grasping the overall development rule of college campus culture, following the basic principles of direction, participation, integrity and dynamic, consciously uses the scientific method of Marxism to explain and solve the new phenomenon and new problems arising in campus culture construction, and promote the healthy development of college campus culture construction in the new period guided by the Marxism with the popularization of Marxism as the goal.
