Textbooks are compiled based on the logic relationships among scientific knowledge and focus on the needs and capacities of students. The ideal textbooks, which make student s willing to study happily, are based on students’ experience. In the process of compiling te xtbooks, a carefully created context plays a psychological role for stimulating the interests of students and clarifying study goals with positive emotional experiences.Based on researching literatures and textbooks, this study reviews and summarizes the context creation of the "molecule and cell" unit in the US version and Jiangsu Education (J E) version textbooks by using the comparative study method at first. Secondly, by compari ng the introduction of unit context and the characteristics of context creation, the difference s of context creation between the textbooks of JE version and US version is analyzed. Final ly, various sections are adopted from the "molecular and cell" unit in JE version to make te aching designs, which demonstrates how to make use of materials resources for the teachin g and how to avoid the creation from context which is irrelevant to teaching. In this way, th e students are stimulated in learning by interests and educated according to their natural abi lities. Our study shows that much attention is focused on context creation in both the US ver sion and JE version textbooks. Context resources are presented by illustrating and different teaching methods. But each version has its own characteristics of context creation. The co ntext creation is closely linked to the daily life in the US version textbooks. Much attention is paid to training divergent thinking of students and summarizing context designing of tea ching units. But the context in JE version textbooks is beautifully described and thought-pr ovoking. It focuses on the design of transitional contexts and the application of knowledge in daily life. Instructional designs should be made accroding to the context material. By co mparing the actual teaching effect, it can be found that the interesting simulation of context , as well as the inquiry and optimized creation of context, are helpful to improve classroom efficiency and achieve learning goals more easily.By analyzing the difference of context creation between textbooks of JE version and US version, this study provides advices on using context resources properly and suggestion s for improving class teaching efficiency.
