A growing revolution is under way in the teaching of new curriculum. The best and most effective use of biological pedagogy helps the learner develop autonomous learning strategies, thus promoting their own learning skills and knowledge.This paper tends to analyze the impact of scaffolding instruction towards the improvement of biology teaching effect, and also gives a brief introduction of the principles, steps and strategies of scaffolding instruction. The basic principles of scaffolding instruction,including taking the students as the main body,attaching great importance to the design of the problem,settings for the teaching situation,and constructing dynamic scaffolding.The basic link of scaffolding instruction is divided into five steps,including Entering the situation, building scaffolding, independent exploration, co-operative learning and evaluating the effect. When studying the strategies of scaffolding instruction,I will mainly discuss the establishement and construction of "the zone of proximal development",and the different forms of constructing scaffolding which including a example,a suggestion,questions.This paper takes "the energy currency of life- ATP" as an example to discuss the design of the classroom teaching. Through a study of scaffolding instruction on biology teaching, this paper points out that scaffolding instruction contributes to reduce the distance between theory and practice, afford a support to the shift of ideas, which is significant to the improvement of biology teaching effect and the reform of biology teaching.
