With the popularization of higher education, the number of college students increased year by year, because of the rapid development of information technology, the Internet has become a important tool in the daily study, life and entertainment for contemporary college student.Electronic games as one of the major media which has caused the extensive concern of All sectors of society.At present, the field of the research about electronic games’ effect on impulsiveness is vacant, this study aims to explore electronic games’ effect on college students’ impulsivity from multiple angles.This Research involve two dimensions of electronic games, namely game time and game content (This study use violent games as an example, namely, the level of violence game), student in the University are the test objects. This research using questionnaire and experimental method to discuss issue from the following three aspects:(1)explore the correlation of between game time, the level of violence game and attentional impulsivity, motor impulsivity, nonplanning impulsivity; (2)explore whether game time and the level of violence game have an impact on impulse decision-making;(3)explore whether game time and the level of violence game have an impact on behavioral impulsivity.the questionnaire data and experimental data are analyzed through statistical analysis methods, the results show that:(1)there is no correlation between game time and attentional impulsivity, and there is positive correlation between the level of violence game and attentional impulsivity;(2)there is positive correlation between game time, the level of violence game and motor impulsivity;(3)there is negative correlation between game time, the level of violence game and nonplanning impulsivity;(4)when facing low temptation (small amount of money), high game time group did not show a stronger impulse decision-making qualities, but when facing high temptation (large amounts of money), they showed a stronger impulse decision-making qualities;(5) high the level of violence game group showed a stronger impulse decision-making qualities;(6)Game time and the level of violence have an effect on behavior impulsivity of college players, the correlation didn’t reach significant level.The study found that there are different correlations between different factors of electronic games and different dimensions of impulsivity and whether electronic games have an effect on impulsive of player or not can not be generalized,which need to be detailed discussed. We need to properly assess the role and impact of electronic games based on specific factors of the game.
