The competitive level of Chinese Basketball Association has been gradually increasing over nearly 20 years, along with the competition results that Bayi Rockets has won seven CBA titles,Guangdong Hongyuan has been a title-winning team for seven years and Beijing has won the champion twice after its regroup since 2010-11 season. However, Xinjiang Guanghui, the favorite among all the teams, repeatedly missed out on the title. Therefore, study is carried out in this paper about the loss of Xinjiang Guanghui in the finals CBA2013-14 season through analyzing the data of Xinjiang Guanghui and Beijing Jinyu(based on the six games in the finals CBA2013-14 season) with the approach of literature review, video observation, mathematical statistics and comparative analysis. And conclusions are made as following:1. The main reasons that led to the loss of Xinjiang Guanghui were the absent guards and weaker forwards.2. Furthermore, the coach of Xinjiang was not so veteran as that of Beijing in the matter of teaching service life and sports experience. For instance, Xinjiang called a timeout under the circumstance of falling behind and Beijing did solargely because of the big lead’s being cut. Also, the times of calling a timeout of Xinjiang outnumbered Beijing, scored less instead. In addition, Xinjiang, the defender with relative high frequency of requesting substitution, would mostly lose the points in the situation of having lost the points a short while ago. After substitution, the leading player of the two teams scored neck and neck, the substitutes of Beijing performing comparatively spectacular.3. In terms of the ability of scoring, Xinjiang’s low hit rate of 2 points andpenalty shot and also the poor scoring and unnecessary turnovers of the assists made it passive; whereas, Beijing paid more attention to the employment of techniques of stealing and blocking than Xinjiang. In the respect of the rebound recovery, Xinjiang more focused on the offensive rebounds than Beijing and had an advantage in the number of rebound players.4. As to the way of scoring, both of the teams scored the 2 points mainly by driving lay-up and then by catch-and-finish, among which the hit rate of the latter was higher than the former, which was suitable to the both teams. Moreover, the two teams scored 3 points primarily by receiving a pass and standing shot, and during which Xinjiang’s hit rate was higher than Beijing.5. In the matter of get zone, Xinjiang laid emphasis on the scoring restricted to 2 points area; Beijing laid stress on both 2 points and 3 points area, besides scoring from the arc and from 45 degree angle were also valued.6. In the field of get zone, Xinjiang attached importance to individual score, whose success rate was relatively higher than Beijing’s. Moreover, Xinjiang was in a dominant position of the times of offense by basic cooperation, but scoring less nevertheless. In addition, Xinjiang’s success rate was low in breaking the zone defense but its hit rate was high in breaking one-on-one defense. Meanwhile Beijing’s success rate was high in breaking the full court press, and so was the rate of breaking zone defense. As for as the tactics cooperation, Xinjiang thought highly of the combined application of filling-in and double-teaming, and also the proper use of basic cooperation with high success rate made Beijing outstanding.Furthermore, in the respect of one-on-one defense and zone defense, Xinjiang’s performance was not that desirable in full court press, but the success rate of zone defense of Beijing was the highest, the rate of full court press the lowest simultaneously.
