Realistic Reflections On Baudrillard 's Theory Of Consumer Society In The Context Of China' S Transition

Along with the deepening of reform and opening up in China, China contacts more and more closely with the international community, a great influx of western culture pour into China, and Chinese values orientation has become increasingly diversified in the critical period of reform and transition. Particularly influenced by Western consumerism, there comes the symbolic consumption, conspicuous consumption, luxury consumption and other non-rational consumption, Values of consumerism has become increasingly apparent, many people begin to see consumption as a way to realize life value and purpose, blindly pursuit the satisfaction of consumption and commodities symbol valueas as sense of vanity. Under the influence of this kind of values, there come many social problems, these problems restricts the sustainable development of our country seriously, and it’s not conducive to personal freedom, comprehensive development. The state of the consumer society Baudrillard describes finds a lot of spot in present China, Chinese consumer society is gradually forming, based on this reference I choose Baudrillard’s theory to think about the current state of Chinese consumer society.Based on Baudrillard’s critical view of consumer society, I analyze the context of Chinese consumer society status. The article is divided into five parts: the first chapter describes Baudrillard’s theory of consumer society and a brief evaluation; The second chapter the Baudrillard’s critic on consumer society and the context of Chinese consumer society; The third chapter analysis dilemma problems in Chinese consumer society during the period of transition state, and these problems shows ecological environment deterioration, thought alienation trouble, social interaction, etc; The fourth chapter analyzes the causes of these problems under the theory horizon of Baudrillard’s consumer society, symbols and productions don’t meet the needs is the fundamental factors, moral diversive values during the period of transition are the main factors, the negative effects of mass media is the driving factor; Last chapter puts forward some suggestions to solve the problem of moral dilemma through the moral dilemmas performance and causes, we need to strengthen the economic base, the construction of the ideological basis and social base, coordinate efforts to promote to solve the present social problems.With the advancement of globalization, accelerating the pace of China’s reform and opening up, China’s state of the consumer society will become increasingly obvious, and the resulting ethical dilemmas will continue to expand, to solve this problem is an arduous long-term task, needs the joint efforts of the whole society, and then we can control the problem when it still states at a minimum range, until it is fully resolved.
