Management and decision making is as important in foreign languages learning as it is in other human activities. Nowadays, the focus of foreign languages learning is changing from teaching to learning. Campus students are facing various learning materials and sharing successful experience on the internet. However, how to use these source both effectively and efficiently? Self-management in language learning seems very vital to the university students.The study analyzed all the metacognitive strategies home and abroad, which have found that these strategies may have played very important roles in the English performance of the students. In this study, the analyzer conducted a case study by means of interventional research. The results showed that those students who were not good at English learning in the start will better their English performance in the end of the study.This dissertation is composed of four chapters. It introduced the background, the purpose, the meaning of the research, the way that research is to be proceeded and the research summary in the intro se(?) In the research summary, The author presents what has been done on the metacognitive strategies home and abroad.Then proposed the entry point of the study. In the first chapter, it is an interventional study on students who had a poor performance at the beginning of the study, while, with the help of the metacognitive strategies, became better at English performance in the end. In chapter two, the author analyzed the effects of the metacognitive strategies on the student in the study.In chapter three, the author proposed a self-management English strategy based on metacognitive strategies.
