In this paper,the auther takes a questionnaire survey to Guangming district of Shenzheng 396 students of grade seven.The survey is about students’ comprehension of mathematical formulas,which focuses on the following six aspects:the cognitive memory of formula, limiting conditions, negative transfer phenomenon, two-way application ability, multiple representation of formula, formula reasoning. From the survey,the author obtains the following results:1. The statistic results show that 90% of the students can correctly write formula, students are required to remember formula by means of reading and reciting during the formula teaching. This method directly help the students obtained a certain extent knowledge, but ignores the developmental education concept.2. Most of the students can noticed the restriction of formula,but often because of carelessness they overlooked the restriction of formula lead to the problem solving error.3. The phenomenon of negative transfer is one of the common phenomenon in study, especially in seventh grade students just began to learn integral expression and often confusing all kinds of algorithms. Students grasp of the formula is only instrumental application level and the relational understanding unfulfilled.4. The majority of students to the formula of positive application ability is better than reverse application ability, on the one hand because the derivation process of the textbook from left to right to let the students produced a mind-set, on the other hand is determined by the student’s body and mind development characteristic, the seventh grade students level of reverse thinking is not mature enough.5. The general three representation mode of formula is:formula expression, written language, graphic language. The students inclined to choose the expression way, because it has characteristics of simple expression. If the student can learn to use various ways to characterize a formula, it has important significance in understanding the essence of the formula.6. The necessity of proof of formula derivation process knowledge and the actual reflect the results of the test have obvious difference, thus to strengthen the formula to the attention of the process.At the end of the article, according to the statistical analysis of survey data, summarizes the research results and found the problems. In combination with teaching theory and teaching practice I give some teaching suggestions, also points out the deficiency of this study and the prospect for future development...
