With the rapid development of technology and the advent of knowledge economy era, higher qualities are demanded for people. Not only do we need to have certain knowledge and skills, but it is more important to keep the idea of lifelong learning and to learn unremittingly advanced knowledge for the purpose of keeping pace with the times. General Technology, as a discipline in the field of technology, providing senior school students with the ability to solve problem and the methods to know the world, develops students’ technological literacy and promotes the overall development of students. All aspects of school leaders, parents and students are turning a blind eye to General Technology curriculum in the school, oblivious attitudes towards this course from school leaders, field education, parents and students entangle it in situation of existing in name only. In order to improve this state, the Ministry of Education promulgated relevant documents repeatedly and advocated diversified education to promote the healthy development of youth.Combining the literature research with author’s practical experience, this paper analyses the frequency of knowledge occurrence, test characteristics and amounts of question about the General Technology test in Shaanxi Province during the year 2010-2014. It provides reference for the majority of front-line teachers’ organization of teaching.Through analyzing recent five years’GT questions in Shaanxi Province, this paper is divided into five parts to give detail explanation. The first chapter introduces the research progress of General Technology courses at home and abroad to lay the theoretical foundation for the study of this article; The second chapter presents the introduction of academic proficiency test, General Technology curriculum, teaching goals and other related content to clarify the General Technology’s related concepts; Comparing question types, questions numbers and knowledge points of GT tests exhaustively in past five years, chapter three describes some features of test from overall perspective to help teachers and students conduct an overall grasp of curriculum and prepare effectively for examinations; The fourth chapter proposes appropriate recommendations of teaching, learning and pro forma for teachers and students to promote the comprehensive development of courses and students’ teaching; The fifth chapter provides a brief summary of the paper and make a research prospects, hoping that more and more scholars will participate in the research of theory and practice about General Technology’s teaching to promote further development of technical courses in basic education.
