2011 edition of the "Compulsory education mathematics curriculum standards" (hereinafter referred to as the "standard") training goal by the "two basics-basic knowledge, basic skills" extends to "four basics", increases "basic idea" and "basic activity experience", clearly puts forward the requirements of the basic idea. Model thought is one of the basic ideas of mathematics, is also one of the ten core concepts of "standard".Since the "model thought" as one of the core concepts, this requires teachers to infiltrate the model thought in the course, students should learn to master the model thought.The concept of function is a basic concept of mathematics curriculum in the compulsory education stage. Students in the junior high school stage of the level of understanding of the function will directly affect the understanding of the function of high school, therefore, it is necessary to explore the learning and mastery of function knowledge of junior high school students. Function application problems are closely related to the practical problems, in junior high school mathematics learning is both the key and difficult points. Combining function and mathematical model, analyzing the obstacles in the process of solving problems of junior middle school students, to explore its causes, will help junior high school students to use the function model to solve function application problems. This paper with the methods of literature research, mathematics test, data analysis, etc. Researches the application and mastery of the function model of junior middle school students in minority areas of Ningxia. On the basis of investigating and analyzing the ability of junior middle school students in this area to solve function application problems by using function model, puts forward the idea training model thought of junior high school students, and improves the junior middle school students are effective strategies for applying the idea of function model to solve function application problems. Among:The first part, expounds the research actual background and research significance of the problem;The second part, introduces the definition of related concepts, research status and related theory;The third part, introduces the research design and implementation methods;The fourth part, according to the level division standard, the answer papers are classified and analyzed, and provincial capital and ethnic areas of the answer are compared. Also lists the wrong question type, and gives a brief analysis. Finally, illustrates the reasons for the above findings;The fifth part, summarizes the paper, puts forward suggestions on the training of students’model thought for model teaching, function teaching, students’habits, teacher level and so on, and expounds the deficiency of the paper.
