From the cultural perspective, this paper firstly analyzes the content and requirements of the conic curve and mathematical culture part in the "ordinary high school curriculum standard" (Experiment). And then selecting the buildings as materials of the mathematical culture in conic curve section of the high school. Next, studying the characteristics of the building material and the conic curve in the building material. Finally, exploring the application of the building material in the teaching of conic curve.This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, mainly introduces the background of the dissertation, the proposing of question, the ideas and methods of research, and the main work of this paper.The second chapter describes the theoretical foundation of the building material into the conic teaching. Firstly, through the statistical analysis of the cultural factors in the conic section of A high school mathematics textbooks, we found that the lack of textbooks in mathematics and cultural arts and humanities material. Then it gives the definition of the relevant concepts and analyzes the meaning of the buildings as mathematical culture material in conic curve section. Finally, the content to conic what some typical buildings involved in were collected and sorted, and the content is made into a table according to the structure of the conic curve.The third chapter is the search for the materials of building. Discusses the development of building and the formation of mathematics.Also discusses the mathematics’spreading and the conversion in buildings. And the conic curve material in three categories of building:the ancient Chinese architecture, ancient Western architecture, modern buildings have been analyzed and studied.In the fourth chapter, the integration of building materials into the conic curve teaching is studied. Through the interpretation of conic curve and equation in "ordinary high school curriculum standard" (experiment) and the study about High School Mathematics culture, the practice strategy of building material is established combined with the characteristics of the building material.In the fifth chapter, the research of the whole paper is summarized, the innovation points and deficiencies are explained, and the future research is prospected.
