The chemistry concept of secondary school is the key content for middle school students to learn chemistry. The basic concept of chemistry is an important content for chemistry learning, which includes definitions, principles and reaction rules. Concept is the basic part of chemistry curriculum content and the nodes of chemical knowledge network, which plays a crucial role for students to form a complete and scientific knowledge framework. Therefore, only we master the basic chemical concepts that we can build up a complete system of chemical knowledge, so as to strengthen the ability for scientific study. However, the basic chemical concepts are multifarious, whit abstract and general characteristics, which can easily cause some difficulties and affect the enthusiasm in learning chemistry.This paper uses literature method, survey method and experimental method to expound and analyze the definition, structure, concept formation and assimilation of chemical concept, which applies to the chemistry teaching in middle schools, and forms the typical teaching design at the same time. The paper also analyzes the influential factors of concept formation from multiple angles, which can summarize how to effectively apply the concept to form chemistry teaching strategy in middle schools, so as to help students overcome the difficulties in learning basic chemistry concept, to improve the students’ learning interest and efficiency and to reduce their learning burden as well.
