The "Chemistry Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools(2017 Edition,2020 Revision)" emphasizes the importance of "literacy oriented" teaching,designing various forms of inquiry activities,and emphasizing the guidance of students to understand the core concepts of chemistry in the self construction of structured chemical knowledge.At the same time,in order to achieve the integration of "teaching,learning,and evaluation",teachers need to effectively carry out daily chemical learning evaluation.By using methods such as questioning or drawing concept maps,students’ level of structural understanding of core chemical concepts and concepts can be examined,thereby implementing the development of chemical core literacy.Chemical concepts are the starting point for students to understand the properties and laws of matter.The construction of basic chemistry concepts can effectively help students form core chemistry concepts and form a systematic cognitive structure in their minds.After investigating and understanding the current situation of high school chemistry concept teaching,it was found that teachers still use traditional teaching methods to explain concepts.Teachers directly provide concepts,students mechanically memorize concepts,and do a large number of exercises to consolidate concepts.This teaching method results in students’ understanding of concepts only staying at the surface and cannot flexibly use chemical concepts to solve problems.In order to help students truly understand concepts and improve the systematization level of core concepts,this article explores the effectiveness of the 5E teaching model combined with concept maps in high school chemistry concept teaching.The 5E teaching model is an exploratory teaching model,abbreviated as Engagement,Exploration,Explanation,Elaboration,and Evaluation.Its core idea is to take students as the main body,realize meaningful learning through students’ active learning and building knowledge in the process of inquiry.E teaching mode is a kind of inquiry teaching mode,which is composed of five links: "participation","inquiry","explanation","transfer" and "evaluation".Its core idea is to take students as the main body,emphasizing the construction of knowledge through students’ active learning and inquiry,and realizing meaningful learning.Concept maps are tools used to organize and represent knowledge,using images to present various concepts of a certain topic and their relationships.By drawing concept maps,students can build a network structure of concepts and improve the effectiveness of concept learning.At the same time,teachers can use concept maps to conduct formative evaluations on students and diagnose their learning outcomes.Therefore,the teaching strategy of combining the 5E teaching mode with the concept map helps students to network their knowledge in both autonomous and cooperative exploration modes,in order to better implement the core competencies of chemistry.Therefore,according to the characteristics of abstract and multiple concepts in the compulsory section 1 "Quantity of Matter" of the People’s Education Edition,this study determines it as a teaching case,and carries out the teaching design and practice of the 5E teaching model combined concept map.This study is mainly divided into two stages.The early stage is the preparation stage: to review and sort out relevant documents and understand the current research situation of 5E teaching model and concept map;Compile a questionnaire and conduct a questionnaire survey on the senior one students in the internship school to understand the current situation of senior high school chemistry concept learning;Formulate an interview outline and interview senior chemistry teachers to understand the current situation of chemistry concept teaching in senior high school;Based on the survey and interview results,the application strategies and principles of "5E" teaching model combined with concept map in senior high school chemistry concept teaching are proposed.The later stage is the practice stage.The design and practice of high school chemistry concept teaching based on the 5E teaching model and concept map.Select two classes with no significant difference in chemistry scores as the research object.After the training of concept map drawing for the experimental class,the experimental class adopts the teaching design of 5E combined concept map,which is a compulsory course of the People’s Education Edition,and the control class uses the traditional teaching design for learning.Compile questionnaires and test questions of relevant cases to test the effectiveness of teaching.The following conclusions are obtained from this study:(1)After sorting out the questionnaire data of the experimental class,it was found that the chemical concept teaching of the 5E concept map can stimulate the learning interest of the students,and the students can experience the inquiry process,which not only enhances the students’ understanding and application of the concept,but also helps to cultivate the students’ ability of cooperation and inquiry.At the same time,the concept map can promote the students’ structure and better implement the chemical core literacy.(2)The analysis of the academic performance of the experimental class and the control class found that the average score of the experimental class was 5.35 points higher than that of the control class.According to the T-test result,P=0.028,the scores of the two classes were significantly different.The above data showed that the concept teaching of the 5E joint concept map was more effective than the traditional teaching method.
