Due to the investigation on 337 senior middle school students involved in project learning, this study deals with some of its effects, the influences of its various implements and subject learning achievement on its effects and motivation, and the relationship between its motivation and effects. For senior middle school students, the project learning effects can be shown in their research experience, data collection, communication and co-operation ability. The effects of its implement combined with subjects are better in their research experience and data collection than those underdone separately. There is no difference between the two types of implements in communication and co-operation ability. Subject learning achievement has no influence on project learning effects. There is no sexual difference in the four aspects of project learning. The interaction of different implements, subject learning achievement and sex has not been found in the effects of project learning. The perceived competence from separate implement is more than that from the combination with subjects. There is no difference for the two implements in students' intrinsic interest and perceived cost. The project learning competence of the students with lower subject learning achievement is higher. The subject learning achievement has no influence on the project learning attainment value, intrinsic interest and task cost. Sex does not affect the project learning motivation. An interaction has been found in its implements, subject learning achievement and sex. A positive correlation is significant in project learning effects, the perceived competence in that, attainment value and the intrinsic interest; and a negative correlation is shown between its effects and the task cost.
