The previous study shows that the presence of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in serum is a specific molecular marker of myocardial injury and there are no any other cTnI subunit but original cTnI in myocardium. The amino acid sequences of cTnI differ from that of skeletal troponin I (sTnI) in that they contain an additional 31 amino acids at the amino terminus of the protein. The cardiac-muscle cell releases cTnI into the circulation as long as ischemic myocardial injury, or even minor myocardial damage (MMD) occurs. In terms of an indication of ischemic myocardial injury, cTnI has greater sensitivity and specificity than other serum enzymes, such as CK, CK-MB, LDH, which distribute in both cardiac and skeletal muscle. A successful detection of cTnI in serum is helpful in recognizing myocardial injury from skeletal muscle damage. Objective By detecting and comparing the variation of CK,CK-MB,LDH and cTnI in rats' serum pre-and post-swimming, the result of this survey revealed that serum CK,CK-MB,LDH and cTnI as an indicator of myocardial injury is of value in sports medicine and sports health.Method 38 rats were randomly divided into five groups: the control group, the group of exhausted swimming, the group which were studied 6, 18, 24 hours after intensive swimming respectively. By the method of immunoinhibition, that use monoclonal anti-CK-M antibody, CK-MB was detected. By improved double monoclonal "sandwich" ELISA, cTnI was detected. Such that CK,CK-MB,LDH and cTnI in serum were all detected and compared with each other.Result Compared with control group, the serum CK, CK-MB and LDH increased significantly in the exhausted swimming group and the group 6 hours after intensive swimming. But cTnI has no significant increase in all groups. Conclusion 1. Since serum cTnI was not detected in rats after intensive exercise, it is concluded that myocardial injury did not occur. 2. The increase in serum CK, CK-MB andLDH levels,6 hours after intensive exercise, is not a sufficient indicator of cardiac injury. And it is possibly oversensitive to cardiac injury.
