This thesis tries to descript objectively the outline of religious belief in Zhangzhuang-village by applying conflicting theory and functional theory, using the methods of on-the-spot investigation and visit, and analysis the reason of confliction between rural religious belief and Chinese society during the social transition. On the basis, I attempt to advance two pair of new concepts, which are obvious conflicting and no-obvious conflicting, realistic conflicting and latent conflicting and approach the social function of rural religious belief and put forward my own ideas.The thesis includes introduction and text.The introduction consists of six facts: first put forward that rural religious belief is an important question for study and make an exposition of the value and significance. Secondly summarize the study present condition of rural religious belief of our time. Thirdly make an exposition of the thesis' theory frame and study' train of thought. Fourthly clear and defined the study' angle of view and method. Fifth fully defined several key concepts. Sixth fully and last state my reason of selecting the place for investigating.The text consists of six chapters. Chapter 1 is the introduction of Zhangzhuang-village, mainly introduced the village' nature, history, geography and developing present condition. Chapter 2 is the outline of Zhangzhuan-village' religious belief, mainly introduced folk religion belief, the Christian religion, the Catholicism and cult, and compared them. Chapter3 is the analysis of producing mechanism of rural religious belief. In this chapter, I made many analyses for the reason of rural religious belief from two facts of individual and society. Chapter 4 is conflicting and adapting: the theory thinking of rural religious belief. At last but not least is Chapter5 that about five questions that should be care in rural religious belief. They are gender's distinction, care ness, rural culture' construction, management of rural religion, peasants' modernization and so on...My paper's obvious characteristic is that applying positivism is the base of the paper and applying sociology theory and method to study the rural religious belief. I hoped that I could receive more critical and instructive advices and gain more achievements and developments in the field of religion sociology.
