Shanghai's development target position is becoming a cosmopolitan city in 21 centuries, and she wants to be famous in the world as same as New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, Also she wants to be one of the center of international metropolis including international economy, finance, trade, and shipping. All this puts forward a unprecedented challenge to Shanghai. Because the all these needs the top-grade talented person, But the top-grade talented person of the high character besides ushering in, gathering together. In a long run, it needs still the top-grade education that fosters. Facing the competition of world economy, Shanghai must run a road of "education saving the city ". Because the strategy has been regarded as the new main battlefield to train top-grade and high character talented person.Looking beyond the world, the author focuses the study of New York education, This text tries to research urban education construction from the international educational angle, quest the detailed education in New York, including preschool education, elementary and secondary education, higher education, occupations education. In particularly, each type of education describes their construction system, foster principle with course teaching etc., finally, the author scoops out the characteristics of education in international metropolis of New York.Based on the present condition of Shanghai, we should draw lessons from the education experience of international metropolis New York, and make the lessons become localization, and help Shanghai get rid of educational problem and perplexity, and provide Shanghai mighty talented person in order to realize her dream of the cosmopolitan city...
