Civic Awareness And Language Education

The citizen consciousness means that every member in a society taking part in it and being responsible to it. Today in China the citizen consciousness is still quite weak, and education must do a lot of things to improve it. Besides the western thoughts of citizen consciousness there are many sayings and thoughts in ancient China which can be used to work for this purpose.This thesis discusses the definition of modern citizen consciousness and did a practical investigation of young students' understanding of it, introducing and explaining some basic ideas in ancient China. How to make and keep the citizen consciousness in middle school language and literature teaching is the key point of the article .
