Environmental awareness is the development of human society civilization to the advanced stage of a social consciousness, personal experience is that people on the natural ecological environment, the level of environmental awareness but also indirectly showed the extent of progress and development of social civlization. Environmental consciousness education is most countries in the world to their people for environmental protection and the principal way of thought and behavior education. Related studies have demonstrated that the ecological environment problem is closely related to human consciousness and behavior, based on the above background, the environment consciousness education research developed rapidly, and become the ideology education environment one of the important research direction in the field of study. Environmental consciousness education can significantly improve people’s understanding and solving the problem of ecological environment.College students as the main power in the 21st century national ecological environment construction in the future, must have the revevant environmental awareness and mastering the ability to solve environmental problems. At present, most developed countries have been established college students’environmental awareness education curriculum and the practice standard, and environmental awareness education on college students in China after years of efforts and development, though has made some achievements, but compared with developed countries, is still at groping stage and gradually increase, this will restrict our country the future society, economy and environment development in an all-round way.Based on the above background, this article in view of the comparative study on college students’ environmental consciousness education of China and the United States, mainly in comparative study environment consciousness education theoretical concepts as the foundation, to compare the ideological and political education theory, sustainable development theory and education localization reconstruction theory as the theoretical basis, for environmental awareness education content, educational approach, comparative analysis of the current Sino-US educational support students, political factors, economic factors, cultural factors, natural and environmental factors of the influence of American College Students’ Environmental Awareness of in-depth discussions. By American College Students’ Environmental Awareness analyze the advantages and disadvantages, which summarizes the differences between our country Students Environmental Awareness of the existence of the research results, such as theoretical and practical value summed with each other on environmental awareness education of college students interdisciplinary content binding needs to be strengthened, lack of education countermeasures targeted and systematic, economic situation is difficult to provide strong support for issues such as environmental awareness education for university students to experience American college students environmental awareness education for reference, causing environmental awareness education to our students in the firm eco-centered philosophy of education, and promote ecological and moral education of systematic educational content, educational approach to explore social practice focused diversification, to build a campus culture construction as the focal point of education support platform for the construction of economic and social development Enlightenment-based education for the general terms of other aspects.
