Teaching material reform is the most important in the mathematics curriculum reform. And the structure is the core of teaching material. In order to recognize the mathematics teaching materials in senior high school, in the first step we should understand the structure of teaching material. With the publishing of National Curriculum Standards of General Senior High School Mathematics, teaching materials of five editions appeared. And they have beening put into pratice in Guangdong, Shandong, Ningxia, Hainan since Sept. 2004. This paper will study the teaching materials of three editions published by People Education Press (Edition A), by Beijing Normal University Press and by Jiangsu Education Press, which are being used in Guangdong. The author will compare the three editions by analysing the structures of the teaching materials. With the Literature Analysis Method, Statistical Analysis Method, Investigate Method, Cases Analysis Method and so on, the author will analyse and compare the three editions in the following ways.Firstly, from the text angle, this paper compares the surface-layer structures(incluing the columns, diagrams, exercises of teaching materials) , and compares thedeep-layer structures (induing the element of knowledge, the element of ability, theelement of emotions ) of these three editions, and summarizes the similarities andthe differences of the three editions.Secondly, in order to obtain the opinions on the new teaching materials from the teachers and the students, the author has investigated 200 plus teachers and 2500 plus students, who using the new teaching materials in Guangdong, and has interviewed some of them. Finally, the author gives some suggestions about the compiling of the new teaching materials: (1) pay attention to interest and preciseness; (2) integrate unitive goal with flexibility; (3) condense traditional content and add neoteric content; (4) merge humanities spirit into mathematics; ( 5 ) reinforce the inner and outer relation; (6) combine the new learning manners with the old; ( 7) provide some necessary guidance and leave free area; (8) pay attention to the subject's logical order and student's cognitive mental order.
