Teaching material is the materialization product of course, and it is also the effective carrier of curriculum can be carried out smoothly. Through the comparison of the new and the old teaching materials, we can find different requirements for the education development of the times and the changes of education situation. " Structure and properties of substance" content is always the most important part but at the same time it is become the most abstract to understand in the middle school chemistry teaching material. The teachers and students in learning the elective elective module spend too much time and vigour. However, the harvest is very small. The module quas be elected to accpet the checks when occupies in the college entrance examination,which lead to many schools give up on the module selection. However, the role of " structure and properties of substance" content in the middle school chemistry curriculum, especially in helping the students establish spatial imagination ability is irreplaceable with other teaching module. This paper uses the method of literature search for the support to the theoretical basis, a comparative study of the comparative research on the comprehensive domestic related the new and the old teaching materials and " structure and properties of substanc" content, and then through the comparative analysis method, from the basis of reference of the new and the old teaching materials,superficial content and deep layer that three aspects of the new and the old textbooks " structure and properties of substance " module carries on comparative analysis, draw the following conclusions:The choice and organization of the new and the old teaching materials respectively follow the " Teaching Outline " and " Curriculum Standard " requirements for the content of the textbooks; Benefit by mutual discussion,the new textbooks are more authoritative; The old textbooks typesetting moreclosely;The compulsory part of the new and the old textbooks lie in the same macro position, in accordance with chapter section form of organization of learning content, but the old compulsory textbook arrangement more in line with the order of cognition the development of students, is also easier for students to accept and understand; Cohesionof the old textbooks are slightly weak; New elective devolution of chemical knowledge in textbooks of university is of great benefit to further study, but also add to the burden of the students in a certain extent; Content organization and selection of old textbooks emphasize the subject centered, pay attention to the logic sequence of knowledge, combine with the actual content is relatively small, relatively simple knowledge presentation. The new teaching material presentation mode of knowledge diversity, increase the readability of the textbook illustrations.But no matter what the picture or columns are knowledge, and students’ real life still has a certain distance, lack of attraction; The old teaching materials focus on results and knowledge while the new textbooks focus on the learning process, knowledge, skills in the process of learning, and the cultivation of scientific spirit and attitude; Two edition textbooks are lack of development of non intelligence factors. According to the research conclusion, put forward the relevant suggestion for textbooks’ use:For editors of textbook, they need to study students’ psychological,reasonably arrange the teaching content order.
