Constructivism is regarded as the most influential educational concept nowdays. In recent years with the popularization of multimedia techniques and Internet, the learning concept of structuralism has aroused a wide attention of people. Guided by this concept more and more schools begin to carry out teaching innovations and teaching experiments. Constructive learning environment consists of the following four factors, namely, "situation", "negotiation", "conversation" and "meaning construction". It is evident that the techniques of multimedia and Internet can bring the factors to a full play. Constructive learning environment can be greatly improved under joint effort of multimedia and Internet connected by HotJava.With the rapid development of Internet, the information on it increases in exponent. It deserves to be the largest library in the world with such a wide range of content and a large a variety of sorts of information. How to search out what users are interested decides whether We can take the most advantage of the information reservoir. Presently information retrieval is mainly based on search engine with the key word given, but the most serious problem of using search engine is that you may get too much irrelevant information. In this paper a relatively effective method of collecting and filtering the multimedia information on Web will be proposed after a deep research on theories and techniques in information retrieval.This paper contains six chapters.In the first chapter firstly the significance of subject-choosing is to be discussed after analyzing the consequent problems facing people brought by the utilization of Internet and the rapid development of Web. Secondly it's an introduction of using search engine in Internet retrieval.Ordinary search engine can't offer users personalized services, nor can it create new knowledge from considerable amounts of information. Web knowledge discovery can resolve the problems mentioned above to some extent .In addition the definition, classification and methods will also be expounded in this chapter. Information-filter technique is a systematic structure and classification of information-filter system.In the second chapter it is introduced how to mine data on Internet and its necessary course according to the multimedia information of specific subject. Using search engine one may get too much irrelevant information which can't meet users' personalized needs. So a new way using interesting vector will be introduced to filter the information searched and to relevant information to users. The process of filtering involves the construction of user personality integration, Chinese word separating techniques, structure of Web, construction of information space model and user interest model, all of these above will be analyzed in this chapter.In the third chapter a knowledge-discover system to explore multimedia information on Web is to be designed. The system is implemented by the following modules, namely, user interface, the adjustment of the corresponding multimedia search engine, the download of the result and the output of the information. The subject chosen as a model is the famous poet LiBai in Tang dynasty. In this chapter the functions of different modules and the corresponding calculating will also be analyzed. The main point of the research is multimedia information management module which contains the abstractness of Web, Chinese word separating and information-filter. The abstractness is to extract documentary information to marked information. Chinese word separating process adopts the normal and retrorse maximum method in dictionaiy. The dictionary here refers to user personality integration. Inthis way a part of irrelevant information can be filtered preliminarily. The process of information-filter adopts a more mature vector space model.In the fourth chapter an assessment of the system is to be made. The system aims at improving the accuracy of multimedia information-filter. This paper makes an assessment of the system from the angle of accuracy and stability. At the same time some disadvantages of this system are also be analyzed.The fifth chapter analyzes the utilization of the system based on constructivism teaching model and multimedia teaching software designThe sixth chapter is the conclusion.
