The study of inquiry, which having become an inevitable choice of the course reform in the information ages,makes the way of study changing from the passive acception type to the active questing type, changes the way of study that students are pure to accept teacher's induction knowledge passively and becomes a brand-new education and teaching method which can develop student's frontier spirit, practice the ability and scientific cultivation.The paper first makes an elaboration on the thought origin and the development track, concept, characteristics, theories foundation, target, position during the course, development and tendency in both domestic and oversea of the study of inquiry, which reflects the latest achievements in the field research on the study of inquiry,and announce the essence and the general development regulation of the study of inquiry to public. Second,expounds the study of inquiry is consistent with fosterring the primary school students'scientific cultivation.Point out that the study of inquiry is an effective way in forsterring the primary school students'scientific cultivation.Finally, inquiry into the practice of the study of inquiry in the primary school science teaching with emphasis,of which including the way and the method,the process and the strategy.Furher expounding and proving it is necessary and possible to practise the study of inquiry in primary school science teaching. And it has become a valuable exploration and try during the further education and teaching practice of the study of inquiry in the primary school science teaching.
