| Now that individual differences are a universal phenomenon, a mass of students' individualdifferences have a far-reaching influence on educational process and psychological education. Thestyle of cognition reflects the mental incline obtained when an individual positively processesinformation and experience through apperception, remembrance and thinking. Americanpsychologist H. Witkin distinguished two typical cognitional styles like the field dependence andthe field independence. After consulting plenty of data, I find that some researchers think thatthose who are good at physics are usually students of the field dependence, while some othersbelieve that no distinctive differences exist among the students with different cognitional manners. In this article, it is admitted that cognitional manners are merely ways of information process, which can be evaluated by its adaptation to the students, and not its superiority or inferiority.Although students of field dependence, compared with those of field independence, tend to have abit more difficulty in physics study, they can, if the teachers adopt appropriate teaching strategies, improve their achievements in physics. This article firstly deals with a distinguishing of the students' cognitional styles from the fielddependence and the field independence through graphic setting tests, and then analyses of theircharacteristic differences in physics study and then describes appropriate physics teachingstrategies especially for the students of field dependence, which include:1. Non-cognition strategies, including exertion of emotional function and inspiration ofphysics learning motivation.2. Cognition strategies, including lightening of proceeding burden and changeable drills.3. Original cognition strategies, including original cognition knowledge, self activities andcultivation of assessment sense and etc.The above physics teaching strategies especially for the students of field dependence hasbeen put into practice and made certain achievements. The results show:1. The students of field dependence has remarkably improved their physics study;2. The practice has little bad effects upon the students of intermediate and field dependence. |
