In the 21th century, science and technology are two important signs of a country's competition. The level of the citizen's science literacy will fundamentally decide the economic and society levels of that country. In this case, the importance of science literacy has already been agreed on by different people. However, survey indicated that the science literacy of primary school students in our country was not satisfied. Traditional science teaching attaches much importance on science knowledge while ignoring science inquiry and science attitude, which greatly effects the improvement of students' science literacy. With the progress of information technology, conducting science inquiry, researching on its effects on the improvement of students' science literacy has become a new subject for people in educational technology field. And it is also important for our new science curriculum reform. The purpose of this study is to provide an experimental teaching program of science inquiry based on network, and to explore its influence on students'science literacy. The researcher developed two inquiry subjects referring to climate. The first one is "sense of warmth and the climate", the second one is "how to forecast the climate by watching the cloud". These two subjects were practiced on fourth grade elementary school students in Guangzhou Jiansheliu Road Primary School. The researcher designed nonequivalent retest-posttest quasi-experiment. One class served as experimental group, which received science inquiry base on network. The other class served as control group, which got traditional class teaching. After the experiment, the data is analyzed according to hypotheses and the main statistic approaches are Independent-Samples T Test and ANCOVA. What follows is the result:1. There is significant differences between the control group and the experimental group when it refers to students'scientfic knowledge and concept improvement;2. Compared with control group, it shows significant improvement in understanding of scientific inquiry in experimental group;3. Compared with control group, it shows significant improvement in scientific attitude and scientific awareness in experimental group. According to the conclusion, theauthor brought about some advice for science education: (1)change traditional science teaching mind, take science inquiry as the key of science teaching;(2) pay attention to "children's problems", bring about good inquiry subjects;(3)provide students with necessary tools and educational resource which are needed in science inquiry;(4)give students enough time to conduct science inquiry;(5)provide guidance when necessary;(6)attach importance on students' communication and cooperation, construct learning community;...
