For a long time, journal has been a mode of self-expression, and so for teachers. Teaching journal is a method for teachers recording their feeling,teaching practice,and also their students. These years, in foreign countries, along with the study of action research,narrative study,phenomenology study and educated dialogic practice study, Teaching journal increasingly intentioned by more teachers and scholars, and it has been related with teacher professional development. Expecting to learn the thinking of the teachers and to serve the teaching and education, many scholars began to study teaching journal. It has been a study domain for them.After scanning the compositions and some papers of this field in and out abroad, the author found that the study of teaching journal in our country was not so formal as foreign countries, and it was not exerting it's foundation sufficiently. Teaching journal in education has it's special foundation and value. So the author wants to write something according to the former study about teaching journal and then put forward some advices.The author began with the theory of the teaching journal, described the conception,origin and the value of the teaching journal. Then with the help of the questionnaire and case study , the author explained the status in quo. At last, the author gave some advices to teachers on how to write teaching journal effectively, and also brought forward some suggestions to school,teacher and expert on teacher professional development.
