An adequate understanding of NOS(nature of science) is a central component of science literacy.Indeed ,the objective has recently been emphasized in the major reform efforts in science education .On investigation the origin of NOS,it's a continuation of Western Ontological thinking mode and also it's directly influenced by the Post-modern science philosophy.As an new curriculum rationale, NOS instruction meets three kinds of predicament in our country .On the level of ideal, two conflicting conceptions of NOS , which based on standpoint of humanists and scientists .On the level of institution.NOS stay the general objects,lacking of patial objects.On the level of conception ,techers' conception of NOS is complex,which affect NOS instruction put into practice..Appearantly,this is a predicament of institutionalized education, but as a matter of fact it roots in the influence of science and culture of Pragmatic Rationalism.The science culture of Pragmatic Rationalism is anastomotic with our ancient science practice,it's characteristic in the conception of mutuality of man and nature,directviewing and out-pushing methodology,and objective of function use.There have been continuously conflicts and syncretic between pragmatic science culture and Western science culture.Under this historical and realistic predicament ,promoting teachers'comprehension towards NOS is prominently vital.Two approaches-explicit and implicit approaches can be used to accomplish this,the fomer is relatively more effective.As to teaching model,Blending mode and IHVS model are in favored of upgrading teachers'capability of instruction of NOS.
