| Teacher professional development does not begin from being a teacher formally, but from the moment when the normal school students step into the field of teachers' pre-service education. As pre-service teachers, they should make full preparation to be a qualified teacher and strict themselves according to the standard of qualified teachers. What is the according to the standard of qualified teachers? What kind of preparation should the pre-service teachers make? Can the current pre-service education make them ready for the preparations? What is the current status of pre-service teachers' professional readiness? How could they prepare better? All of these issues are discussed in this research.Based on the practice-meaning oriented theory of teacher professional development, this paper explains the understanding of teacher professional development from the five aspects: professional intention, professional skills, professional knowledge, professional ethic and professional experience.Secondly, this research designs the questionnaire of teacher professional development according to the above five aspects, surveying among 105 in-service teachers from C Normal University and 50 in-service teachers to compare. And according to the comparison,we can conclude that pre-service teachers greatly differ from the in-service teachers in professional experience and professional ethic. In professional skills and knowledge, the marks of the pre-service teachers are slightly lower than those of the in-service teachers, while in professional intention and ethic, the marks of the pre-service teachers are obviously higher than those of the in-service teachers. There was no significant difference between the total marks of them. Then, this research interviews 20 pre-service teachers deeply. After sorting and analyzing the materials of the interviews,we could also conclude the current status of pre-service teachers' professional readiness. Finally, this paper compares the mode, curriculum and exercitation of the pre-service education in the USA,the UK,Singapore and China.Furthermore, after comparing and combing scientific data with the material of the interviews, the research makes some suggestions to improve the current status of pre-service teachers' professional readiness. |
