Xi'an Hui Ethnic Identity Research

This paper selected Old Xi'an Hui in area of the Xi'an Beiyuanmen as the object of study. And combined questionnaires and field survey methods to collect data, analyze and conclude data of survey statistical and depth interviews, field observations are analyzed and summarized, in-depth discuss Xian Hui ethnic identity, in order to identify the factors that influence the national identity, understanding the level of Xian Hui ethnic identity, and make theoretical generalization and interpretation to urban minority ethnic identity phenomenon and the process in cultural changes.This paper outlines the first part of the investigation point Xian Hui and basic conditions; second part of the national identity theory was summarized and reviewed the internal part of the academic research on national identity, assuming that the Hui in Xi'an to maintain national identity, ethnic community, to adapt to culture Change and social development; third part briefly introduces this collection of information, analysis and sorting methods.In the fourth part describes the historical development and changes of Xian Hui and everyday identity, and the analysis of survey data and interviews and field observations, based on the ethnic identity of the Hui in Xi'an, and to patterns of residence, religion, Intermarriage and ethnic factors affecting the interaction between the four indicators, and probe into the way of nationality identity of Hui in Xi'an.PartⅤof this paper to discuss the Hui in Xi'an why and how to maintain boundary by national identity, to adapt to cultural change and development.
