| With the wide development of network technology and information technology, digital broadband multimedia network has been popularized to a great extent. By the existing cable network, digital broadband multimedia network has become a kind of digital network including a lot of value-added services, such as video on demand (VOD), Internet browsing, online securities trading, interactive television (IPTV), online games, e-commerce, online banking, online education, IP telephone and so on. And in digital broadband multimedia network, by the TS over IP technology, programs in digital television broadcast network can be leaded into broadband IP network for IPTV. Therefore, in spite of the satellite, terrestrial or cable transmission, the IP backbone network can be used as another cheap and efficient way for digital television broadcasting.The IP multiplexer in this paper is front-end network equipment for digital broadband multimedia network system, by which the MPEG-2 streams transmitted by the IP-based network can be dealt with multiplex real-time process, and then exported to IP-QAM modulator or directly to the IP backbone network. Based on the former research and the application background of IP multiplexer, this paper will introduce the researches for the fulfillment of the IP multiplexer as the following aspects:First, study on the protocol specification on the standard system layer of MPEG-2. Deep research on PSI information extraction and reconstruction, PID replacement, packet filtering, as well as the adjustment of PCR, which are known as the technologies in MPEG-2 stream multiplexing, has been done under the well comprehension of syntax and PSI information of MPEG-2 transport stream.Second, study on the transmission of MPEG-2 streams in IP networks. Started with TCP/IP protocol, this paper has discussed the protocol model, TS data packet and transport methods in the IP network.Third, accomplished software architecture of IP multiplexer on Linux platform. This paper will introduce the detailed modules of IP multiplexer, which includes TS receive module, TS analysis module, TS multiplexing module and TS stream output processing module. Further, for the configuration and management of IP multiplexer, front-end WEB user interface also has been designed.Last, success in the functional test and performance test of the whole IP multiplexer system, which is consist of front-end WEB UI and the background processing unit. |
