Although the Internet of things has been widely used, the application in the medical field mostly remains in the presentation phase and does not bring tangible relevant benefits to the people. Therefore, how to design a highly practical, technical and low-cost medical care system by using the Internet of things becomes an urgent need to study.In view of the problems and shortcomings in the current medical care system, this paper combines the Internet of things technology and develops a set of nursing system of the Internet of things based on Android. Based on the principle of modern control theory and supported by the technology of the Internet of things, the system realized the real-time detection of hospital ward information, the effective control of nursing machine and other functions.The application layer of the nursing system of the Internet of things is mainly studied in the paper. The research mainly includes two parts of the server and the client:(1) The server is developed by C# language and the Webservice is compiled. The Webservice has the advantages of good encapsulation, high integration and platform independent. It is used to realize the function of data communication with the gateway and the Android client and the storage and analysis of the data. The data transmitted by the gateway is saved by using SQL Server 2008 database. So it is convenient for the Android client to view the data of the gateway. The communication between Webservice and the gateway adopts Socket communication under TCP/IP protocol. The gateway, Web server and the Android client are routed to a network and transmit by using the broadband cable. The Web server conducts a detailed analysis of the data from gateway. The user can view the analysis record and make use of the analysis results to adjust the management of the ward timely.(2) The Android client uses the Eclipse development platform and the Java language for programming. The system adopts modular programming method and the Android application is divided into three sub procedures of the login module, the real-time detection module and the security alarm module. The method can improve the efficiency of programming greatly and is easy to modify and upgrade the programs. The login module sets different user permissions to ensure the security of the system used. In real-time detection module, the user can view the real-time information in different wards and make corresponding adjustments and control. In the security alarm module, the user can predict the sudden situation so as to reduce accidents, and alarm timely at the time of the accident to attract the nursing staff’s attention.The medical care system of the Internet of things based on Android is an important application of the Internet of things technology in medical field. The Android client is convenient for the mobile care of the nursing staff and improves the flexibility of the care system. It can also set the corresponding parameters according to the different needs of each ward.
