Beidou satellite navigation system (BDS) is the development of an independent, compatible open global satellite navigation system. With the construction and improvement of the BDS system, the system is moving in the direction of the development of high-accuracy. BDS antenna is an important component, which determines the measurement accuracy of BDS system. Antenna phase center variations and multipath interference are the two main sources of error precision measurement, also a focus and a difficulty of the design of high-accuracy satellite navigation antenna. In this paper, starting with the design of high-accuracy antenna for BDS system, in-depth study of the wideband circularly polarized magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna, antenna multipath interference suppression techniques and methods to establish the antenna phase center model. The main contents include the following three aspects:1. The ME dipole antenna, a new complementary antenna element, is studied, and the study is applied to design of the BDS antenna, presenting a novel wideband circularly polarized ME dipole antenna. The proposed antenna consists of crossed ME dipoles, two reflectors and Composite Right/Left-hand (CRLH) power divider with phase shifter. The upper part of the dipole is electric dipole, which is connected to four vertical shorted patches that equivalent to a magnetic dipole. Measured results show that the antenna achieves a wide impedance bandwidth, which cover B1, B2, B3band of Beidou-2, and in the operating band, the antenna has a good radiation pattern performance and a stable phase center. The antenna has excellent performance makes it completely accords with the design requirements of high-accuracy BDS antenna.2. Study of the inhibition of multipath interference antenna technology. Focuses on the choke ring technique, multipath interference suppression principle of choke ring was studied. A choke ring is designed for the BDS antenna, and the proposed high-accuracy BDS antenna is mounted on the choke ring. The results show that the improved choke valve after low radiation performance than the elevation axis of the antenna, the antenna is reduced, thereby enhancing the ability of the antenna multipath interference suppression.3. To study the establishment of the antenna phase center model approach. Reference to foreign high-accuracy GPS antenna phase center modeling method, the phase center model based on international standards of global satellite positioning system service organization (IGS), the establishment of a high-accuracy phase center model.
