Photoelectric detection and measurement technique has widely usedin untouched. on-line length measurement with its rapid development.However, detection and measurement to hot-red kind of object in theprocess of some industry is different from common length detection andmeasurement. It is Because of high temperature radiation that hot-red kind of object cannot be detected and measured using commonphotoelectric method. The aim of detection and measurement techniqueof this paper researching is to give a means of accurate measurementto hot-red kind of thread material, stick material etc.In this paper, first, according to the characteristic of passivelight source, it adopts CCD (Charge Coupled Device) imaging systemstructure. Then, through analysis of basic characteristics of hot-red kind of object, it presents that double controlling return circuitis adopted in system. The double controlling return circuit advancedin this research is light quantity of controlling return circuit andfloating bi-valurize compare voltage controlling return circuit. Thismeasuring scheme effectively expands system adaptability for largerange,slowly change and small range, fast change light-strength signal,and solve the applied limitation to various light strength because highlight sensitivity causes CCD device dynamic range small. It lays afoundation to the development of practical measurement system.In this research, CCD detect and measurement system of wide rangelight strength is combined with 0ptical system,computer datacollection, disposal system. A lot of experiments are done. Theanalysis of the experiment data show that the CCD on-line detect andmeasurement system using double controlling return circuit ispracticable to detect and measure hot-red kind of object length signalwhich is effected by both slowly change and fast change light strength.If the technique is popularized in the measurement field of geometricalquantity of passive light source, it will have very good appliedforeground.
