The supervisory control and data acquisition system(SCADA), which is made up of intelligent distributed data acquisition equipments as well as data process and visualization systems, is one of the most useful industrial control systems in industrial processes and management automation.The heat-setting equipment of paper mesh, whose control system is a sophisticated distributed SCADA system that involves serial communications, temperature control, tension control, DC motor control, and computer system for displaying and logging, are built specially for heat-setting of polyester paper mesh.IPC+PLC+IR control mode is selected in our solution for Shengyang Copper Mesh Co., Ltd. as that of the control system of the heat-setting equipment. An IPC-610 industrial PC of Advantech Inc. installed with SYNALL 2000 configuration software is used for monitoring status of the heat-setting equipment and other operations such as reporting and querying. Two AL808 IRs are selected to implement the temperature control system. Four 590 digital converters are used to adjust the speed of DC motors. And an OMRON C200HG PLC is responsible for logic control, tension control, and synchronization of paper mesh stretching.The control system of the heat-setting equipment of paper mesh is comprised of several parts described respectively as follows.1. The temperature control system is made up of three parts. Two AL808 IRs which can automatically tune PID parameters of the system with expert intelligence, thyristors as the output and thermocouples as the input.2. Speed adjustment system of DC motors employs four 590 digital converters as the controllers of DC motors. This system has two control loops, the inner current loop with advanced adaptive control algorithms and the outer speed loop with a PI regulator.3. Synchronization of paper mesh stretching is accomplished by synchronizing the speed of two stretching DC motors. This system employs a high speed counter unit to get the stretching displacement error used as the feedback of one of the motor.4. The tension control system employs P-Fuzzy-PI control algorithm to gain good control effect.5. And in the last part, supervisory control system based on industrial PC,SYNALL 2000 software is used to develop DDE drivers and animation pictures of control process.As a matter of fact, the control system of the heat-setting equipment, which employs high accuracy control units and advanced control algorithms have improved the quality of paper mesh and helped operators away from hard work.
