| The paper introduces how to develop a three-dimension standard part library of moulds based on C/S, with the help of Solidworks software as supporting, and of database to handle parametric data & original SD-model.The system includes four program modules: data-input module, data-processing module, data-display module and standard part maker module. The four are linked by data-processing module .The parametric data used in making standard parts and the data displayed in the graphical interfaces are scored in the database of SERVER. SOL server 7.0 is used in DBMS. To make it more convenient for users, we design the same graphical interfaces: if only users input main parametric data of a standard part, automatically the data will be got by the data-input module; the data stored in database of the SERVER will be read through the data-processing module; then they will be sent to the standard part maker module, in which Solidworks will build standard parto Since the latest data accessing technique-ADO is adopted in our data-processing module, it becomes true to get and apply data through intranet. Macro supplied by Solidworks is used in standard part builder module, which makes it more convenient to set up the parametric program of standard parts. The data-display module is to offer reference while users are inputting main parametric data; on one hand, it displays the JPEG image of the standard part required by users; on the other hand, it lists all the main parametric data available.Mould CAD software is being developed by CAD Lab School of Mechanical Dalian University of Technology and Technique Department Changchun Carriage Manufactory. As a part of the software, the system above has been developed and been put into use in the mould CAD software. This paper discusses the method to parametrize three- dimension standard parts, realizes the automatically making of three-dimension standard parts, and establishes the foundation of automatization in mould design. Meanwhile, the way to develop this system can also be applied in all types of parametric feature formation software, such as Solidedge, ProE, etc. |
