Computer network have already seeped the all aspects in our society, which are served as basis of information society such as government department, commerce, military affairs, education and scientific research realm. The running of computer network becomes very important because information society depends on computer network. At the same time, the dependence brings up the stricter requirement to management and running of network.Although every network equipment manufacturer provided their network systems, the traditional software of network management existed the limitations such as they had no movement on geographic and system aspect; they had no unified standards; and they could not really the independent and safety of platform and so on. Their limitations limited development of network application.Now, more and more people are talking about the Based-Web network management along the emergence of the WWW, JAVA, XML. The article disserts the prevalence and meaning of the WBM fully; discusses the possibility of based Java and web network management; brings up the technology of network searching, interview of SNMP, obtain of MIB information and service control and so on. And this paper verify this technology under the Linux, Tomcat and JSP platform in our laboratory. It finally proves that the system based Java and XML of network management can satisfy the requirement of network management, and has better feasibility and practical application value.
